All international students require a valid Study Permit to register for courses at OCAD U. You should apply for your Study Permit as soon as you receive your official letter of acceptance from OCAD U. Processing times vary from country to country and it may take as long as 90 days for your application to be processed. Please visit the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada website for information on the application process and required documents.
It is very important to know when your current study permit is going to expire and to allow plenty of time to renew it. You can apply for a Study Permit extension from within Canada through the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada website.
Citizens of certain countries will also require a Temporary Resident Visa (entry visa) to come to Canada. The Canadian visa office will process your Temporary Resident Visa application at the same time as your Study Permit application.
If your Temporary Resident Visa expires, it is possible to apply for a new visa from within Canada. Please visit the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada website for information on the application process and required documents.
