Dates and Deadlines
Applications for all programs will open in September 2027
Timeline for Fall 2027 applicants:
- Mid September 2026 - Applications open for fall 2027 admissions through OUAC
- October 2026 - Portfolio submission opens through SlideRoom
- January 15, 2027 - Application deadline for Group A: Current Ontario High School Students
- February 1, 2027 - Application deadline for Group B: All other applicants
- February 10, 2027 - Portfolio submission deadline
- March 2027: Initial round of offers of admission go out.
* Additional dates may be added, please check this list often.
If you get an offer of admission:
- As soon as possible: Accept your offer of admission and make sure you meet the academic and English Proficiency requirements (if applicable)
- July 2027 - Recommended deadline to submit official documents.
- August 2027 - Final deadline to submit official documents.
APPLYING TO OCAD U
How it works
All applications for admission are made online through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC). The only entry point is in September each year. The recommended deadline to apply for all programs at OCAD University is early February. Applications may be considered after this deadline if space is available.
Offers of admission to OCAD U’s programs are based primarily on the strength of the applicant’s portfolio or writing sample. All offers are conditional upon meeting the minimum academic requirements and supplying all required documentation.
